REXEL SENATE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Rexel Senate is one of the leading electrical
distributors in the UK with a clearly defined
environmental policy. We achieve this by, investing
in our people, excelling in customer service and
continually improving standards. We recognise that
our operations have an impact upon the environment
and therefore we will work to reduce any adverse
impact and maximise the aspects of our operations
that impact positively on our customers
environmental performance.
The Board of Rexel Senate recognise the need to
balance economic gain with protection of the natural
environment, upon which we all depend, and will
ensure that all staff are given resources and
training to enable them to take an active role in
supporting this policy.
MANAGEMENT
ISO14001: Environmental Management System adds value
to our existing ISO9002 management system. Full
integration with health and safety management will
ensure the foundation is laid for improved
performance. Branch staff have been empowered to
deliver improved performance through the use of
these management systems.
OBJECTIVES
Rexel Senate will ensure legislative compliance,
reduce pollution and ensure continual improvement
across the Group focussing on specific branch
locations and the following key broad objectives:

Maximise the energy efficiency of buildings

Maximise the efficiency of transport use and
route planning

Reduce waste at source, reuse and recycle
wherever possible

Develop an economically viable and
environmentally sound branch refurbishment and
construction standard

Understand and help improve the environmental
performance of our suppliers

Provide information to customers to enable them
to choose environmentally sound and efficient
products

Provide staff with information and appropriate
training to ensure they can fully contribute to
the environmental programme at Rexel Senate
