Poorly-maintained boilers don't
just cost more to run, producing less heat for the gas consumed,
they can also kill by giving off poisonous carbon monoxide
fumes.
If you are a landlord, it is a criminal offence not to have
your boiler serviced annually and certified by a CORGI registered
installer. And in your own home, it's your own and your family's
life at risk. So don't delay: get your boiler serviced by a
Corgi-registered gas installer.
Is your heating system suffering from boiler noise radiators
not getting warm. Having your system cleaned out and using
a corrosion inhibitor, can help prevent further corrosion to
help prevent problems and keep cost and reduce fuel bills.
There is a range of this type of boiler to suit most homes,
from the one bedroom flat to the four or five bedroom house
and can be wall mounted at high or low level. The benefit or
this type of boiler is its compact size and neat 4" diameter
flue that passes through the outside wall, the flexibility
of the flue options allow the flue to be run approximately
3 metres horizontally or vertically, enabling the boiler to
be sited on internal as well as exterior walls.
Floor standing boilers are made in balanced flue, fanned flued,
and conventional flue versions. The balance flue version must
be fitted backing an outside wall with the flue passing directly
to the outside, the fan flue version can have extended flues
to the outside. The conventional flue version must be connected
to a suitable chimney; all models can be used with fully pumped
or gravity systems.
Balanced flue versions can fit under kitchen worktops
Condensing boilers are the most efficient type of wet central
heating system. They typically convert about 88% of fuel. Condensing
boilers scavenge most of the heat that is normally lost from
a non-condensing boiler and recycles it, therefore reducing
the amount of fuel used to heat your home. If your existing
boiler is more than 15 years old, replacing it with a condensing
boiler could save you as much as 32p in the pound on your fuel
bills.
System boilers work together with a hot water cylinder. The
boiler heats the water that is stored within the cylinder and
feeds the central heating system from one energy efficient
source.
